Making Headlines,
Driving Change

ABB Switzerland and the Swiss Datacenter Efficiency Association (SDEA) are forming a partnership – to help data centers use energy more efficiently.

Soon, every data center in the EU that reports its figures will carry a public label. It is a real step, and a welcome one. With one gap.

SDEA has won Silver in the Technology and AI for Good category at the 2026 Global Good Awards, for the SDEA Navigator and Label.

SDEA President Babak Falsafi chairs one of the conference tracks, and Executive Director Matthias Haymoz speaks on two panels.

Whatever drew data centers to their sites, every version of the map rested on one unexamined assumption: the grid would always say yes.

The Silver Plus label for data center infrastructure is based on twelve months of operational data and an independent audit.

Data center efficiency figures are quoted like fixed properties of a building. They aren’t.

SDEA is one of nine finalists in the Digital Provider category at the 2026 World Sustainability Awards.

An expert report recommends that SDEA's certification framework serve as a blueprint for how data center sustainability is reported across the EU.

SDEA is a finalist in the Technology & AI for Good category – the only entry from the data center sector among the six shortlisted.
